If your close to O’Connor, drop into Oceanside and buy some McCarthy’s SP’s and they will probably tell you all about them and how to use them.

Snapper love them
I have used them up there with a couple of stink baiters on the boat for competition.
Go for the bigger variety and when the others are getting just the babies you will be getting hit by the big boys. I found that in the spots that hold a lot of fish, and most of them are small, they will out fish a bait. Paddle tails and the long flat curly tailed ones were getting most of the bites.
Like most things having the right equipment, a good jigging rod. will make a difference.
Sometimes when the water is quiet, you can hear the fish laughing at you !

Same
Hey stonefish, we are also there in April. Soft plastics worked for us last time we were there. Too well infact, got hammered & ripped apart. Had a bit more luck with whiting heads, seemed to stay on a bit longer.
Maybe catchya there.
Cheers & Stay safe

Dont fuck around buying
Dont fuck around buying placs that wont go the distance...
You dont want a fish coming up and pashing the tail off each and everytime....
Placs work well, last time i was in shark bay it was a good reason to get rid of all the shit ones i'd bought over the years....
Once they were gone me and the missus were catching Pinks on jig heads without the plac.....
Kinda got boring
