we use them up here and do pretty good as well! depending on the depth is how i rig them. I use a much stronger hook than the jig head Andy uses, mainly because we target big blubone in shallow water and you will straighten anything that small as we cant afford to let a fish run (zero drag and strong line). I use an 8/0 gamakatsu salt water fly with a running bead depending on the depth. I put the hook in where its mouth would be and come out where the flap would be on the underside of the crab. This is also how we rig a real crab and we have had a pretty bloody good success rate on them. Good luck mate
What species do you intend using them for as there are a few sizes and colours suited to different applications.
I corresponded with the Berkley rep recently and he said they have stopped bringing them into Australia because only a few people are using them. What is on the shelves and in storage may be all we will see and they will peeter out soon.
was with real crabs straight off the rocks. So I can't see why the plastics wouldn't work. However, the bream I caught were normally on crab portions. So you might have to sacrifice your plastic crab and cut it into quarters.

It would be interesting to see how they work on bream. I see no reason why they wouldn't. Just try to look around at the colouring of the crabs in your local spot and try and match this with the selection of plastic crab that you use.
