Snapper techniques
Submitted by Shrimpy41 on Thu, 2013-08-22 19:43
Hi guys,
I am getting into my fishing more and I want to target some snapper, I have caught some in the past just randomly when bottom bouncing for dhues and baldies,
If anyone has any hits of techniques, baits, and maybe locations that would be much appreciated.
Cheers

hElmo Daniel. And welcome to
hElmo Daniel. And welcome to fishwrecked. Snapper fishing is great fun. Everyone loves to hook into a nice big pink as they are a reasonable fight and especially on the light gear. I personally like to eat them too. Many on this site would beg to differ. I guess we're spoilt for choice here in wa. The Cockburn sound is riddled with pinks at the moment and don't let anyone tell you different. The five fathom bank is another good location for a decent pink. I personally pulled my pb pink of 92cm and 8.7 kg just on the 5. As for GPS co ords? Think you will just have to sound around mate. Study the tides the moon and the winds. I'm going out from woodmans tomorrow night as I think conditions will be in my favour for a pink or three. I will be in a maroon coloured swift craft. If your going to be out and happen to see me come on over and yell out. I'd be happy to have a chat and let you know whats going on.

Yer they are awesome fun from what I have caught in the past, I am going for an arvo fish today. Launching from point Perron and heading across to where a mate has caught some in the past so hopefully I have some sort of luck and will upload a pick if I can get anything worth it. But thanks for the hints mate I will see you around one day
