snapper filleting scraps in burley trail

I have heard stories that if you drop Snapper skin/ofal into your burley trail it can put the Snapper off the bite.....seems a bit odd to me what do you think

Old timers and line fishing

Old timers and line fishing professionals will not fillet or clean snapper at their spots and Ive heard to some attempting to poison others locations by dropping snapper bits on someones patch. Whether its an old wifes tale or not I dont know, but some well respected pros over east swear its true.

Been on a charter over Sydney , who said that dolly's will go off the bite if you clean one over a school.

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Don't do it if you are over a school because they will go off the bite straight away, its a definite no no on any pro boat, if you have to clean fish, drop all the bits into a bucket and dump it well away from where you are fishing.

I think the argument against adding my snapper scraps to the burley trail is strong enough that i wont risk it......usually all my scraps are frozen for future burley.........reckon i might just chuck the snapper scraps on the way out..........
