Pick your conditions - in the early days a couple of decades ago used to regularly fish and dive behind GI from a 3.8 savage snipe (ocean side) launching from the small beach on the sound side of the Causeway.  Just inside (Sound side) of the Causeway bridge used to hold heaps of good skippy and a really safe spot for tinnies even if the sea breeze gets up

I've done many trips into the sound and a couple behind Garden Island in my 12ft Quintrex, as sunshine said, you need to pick your day and once you see that wind pick up - get moving. I noticed this year that the epirb laws have changed to be a flat 2nm off the coast and 400m off the islands so depending on where you want to go, make sure you have the correct safety gear before you venture out.

Guys go out on Kayaks so a 3.7m tinny will be great.

Alternatively, my 3.9m tinny in the for sale section will be ideal :-)
