I have the terez 15 - 30 lb 7 ft matched with a stradic fj 5000 and is certainly my go to combo either boat or land based. Was using it a couple of weeks ago on 6 kg salmon from the boat. The stradic 5000 is the same as the 4000 just a bigger spool.

My mate snapped his and I was at a tackle store when another was being returned for the same problem. The snap occurred whilst fighting a sambo and was a clean snap between the second and third guides.

2 models

Tue, 2014-12-30 05:39

There are 2 models of 15-30lb keep in mind, 1 with a longer thicker butt and skeleton reel seat the other with ur smaller spin rod handle same length from memory 7"2', 1 was a medium heavy and the smaller was fast heavy?.. something along those lines, abbreviation is stamped on the blank. I got the larger model for boat fishing as it gives more leverage. Wasnt amazing at casting and found u needed some extra wieght to get some distance with it even then its like 20 - 30 metres, very stiff rod. Been good easily handled 60+cm pinks. I havent used the smaller one but i imagine thats what ur after for best of both worlds.

To add some more weight to

Tue, 2014-12-30 12:44

To add some more weight to the rod snapping issue, my Terez also snapped when hooking a fish. It snapped in half even before any significant load was brought to it. Speachless.

However prior to that landed some great sails, spanish macs etc and it was a great pelagic rod, although i dont think very suited to demersals. They dont have enough guts when you want to stop something big from reefing you.

My opinion anyway

Cheers
