try the jetty in Denham...

Fri, 2013-06-14 22:29

try the jetty in Denham... its good for squid. there is a little sand bar north of Denham wich is good for whiting. just wear shoes in teh water as stone fish are about. there is a round about at the top end of the town. if you hang a right there and take the first off road track to the left it will bring you out on that sand bar. other wise just launch from town and have a play around the bay. there is plenty to be had there.

try whalebone, it's only a 10 min drive south from denham and was the best days fishing i've ever had. i was off the rocks that are just north of the bay on the road in.

the road into whalebone bay

Sun, 2013-06-16 10:06

the road into whalebone bay is off the main road(hammelin i think) that runs to denham, you will pass it on your left on your way up. mainly caught black snapper, but was only using 10lb braid and 15lb leader so lost alot of bigger fish. the link has the gps coords and a lil information.

Hi ayitsme,

if you need a gps for your tinny, my old one is laying in the spare room on a shelf

since i upgraded to a gps plotter. (thanks seafari)

it's nothing special, just a basic black and white gps

you're welcome to it

I'm in armadale, but frequent the southern suburbs

Fyi you can catch some excellent whiting from the shore in town. We hire a house just down from the bakery and cleaned up last trip. Biggest was 39cm using peeled prawn pieces.

Thanks for the info as we are heading up soon too. Are there some good places to buy bait? A range available? Anyone know if you can buy sandworms and guardies in Denham?
