Sambo jigging 31/10/2010
Went out with saltwater charters with my girly for my first proper sambo jigging session today.
A few nice fish were landed very patchy but still a fun day with a few of the fishwrecked crew aboard and others on their own boats (just1morcast, Johnf, goodz and who ever else i missed)
First drop and 3 jigs up, bang it was on for me:). Few more sambos were caught along with some smaller amberjacks. I lost a few decent ones along with my jigs :( At the end of the day we were lucky to spot a school of tuna so i cast out my 100gram jig and caught my first bluey toooona too :) To top it off last fish i caught was a flathead only a few cms bigger than my 100gram jig haha.
All up i had a great day some new species ticked off and new personal bests :)

love that pic of the guy creasing up at your lizard.
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Man some how we managed to avoid any sambos all day! Only got Ambers again! Definately harder work out there today for hook ups but I think we managed 15 or so ambers. Where were those big sambos hiding!??!

Great effort
Nice fish and congrats on the PBs. Chinny looks a little weary: was he using ridiculously light gear again?
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.

Just1morecast you are keen to get out there on ya own. Watching ya pulling those sea anchors in and putting them out must be annoying. Good on ya but i know when i get a boat i will do the same.
