Saltiga Handle
Submitted by GrahamM on Sat, 2016-08-06 08:44
Hello its been a while.
I went out for a fish yesterday and borrowed a saltiga reel for a try. Only to find that when i got to the fishing spot ( 20miles ) that somehow the handle had worked its way off the reel and was no ware to be found. The rod and reel was in a rocket holder on top of the roof/canopy. Why and what can i do to prevent this ? The reel seemed fine before setting out for the trip.
Cheers Graham

Same
I had the same thing happen a few years ago with a 6000H. Luckily when it fell off it hit the gunwale and bounced into the boat. Now days I make sure they are extra tight and position them in the middle section of the rocket launcher.

Saltiga handle
hey graham, give tackle hq or Oceanside tackle a call, that will probably have an aftermarket handle.
My spots are so secret even the fish don't know about them !

Since loosing a luvias of the back of the boat under way i never travel with rods in holders - always lie them down on the floor - saves the wear marks on the seats too!!

After market handles are
After market handles are avail from brands such as SOM or Fisherman. Neither are cheap and may even cost more than original. You can try those. Prob best check whether the Daiwa RCS ones will fit. They're cheaper

Hi graham,
I recently lost the cap on the other side of the handle on my 4500 saltiga, you think I got any help trying to source one from Daiwa Aus or Bluewater? Nope nothing. I know you've ordered one already (if it's the SOM handle I have its not too bad) but in future, order daiwa parts direct from Plat, they're sort you out and get it to you quickly.
