We are heading south Dunsborough Hamlin area this weekend. Hoping to land some Salmon.. Anyone had any luck that area lately? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.........

we where getting heaps last
we where getting heaps last week but i met up with Honsu today for a fish and there was not a great deal around ... a few fish are swimming by now and then but its still hit and miss as usual .. all i can sugest is : if you can cast far enough with minnow type lures use them instead of metals .. the metals have been spooking the fish a lot and are not doin gvery well at all.

dunsborough
had the same sorta exp in dunsborough last week forgot my hard bodys only had placcyz and metals. so the combination of no minnows and a whole heap of dickheads that need to learn a bit aout fishing eticut resulted in a very pissed of brenz and a frustrating day with no fish. ryan did well though on x raps he had a corka of a day.
will be back sunday though to have another crack.
cheers brenz

lol...good thing you left
lol...good thing you left Feral...at about 2.30 a decent school turned up we got into a few more fish. I ended up hooking 3 or 4 landing 2 due to weak hooks. Between 4 of us we got 6 out of that school. Went to Mitchells after that and bumped into the same school but it got bigger and more hungry. We ended up with couple more fish each.
Yeah Brenno, for some reason the metals didnt work as well as larger profile lures, ie minnows and large softies. I got most of mine on sinking stickbaits and a couple on floating YoZuri stickies.

What sort of minnows were you using?

Rapala X-Rap SXR-14 shallow
Rapala X-Rap SXR-14 shallow divers and has enough weight to cast out a fair distance. Otherwise Maria Bull Chops which is a sinking popper/stickbait.

Thanks Honshu
I will have to stock up on some. I have always been a Nilsmaster fan. Do you rate them for salmon fishing?
