S-Bend or Coronation Beach - Long weekend fishing trip
Submitted by JasFishing on Mon, 2012-02-27 15:58
Hi Guys, I am planning a camping and fishing trip this weekend with the old man whos been overseas for the past 2 years I am hoping for him to get a nice mulla or some big tailor. I cant decide where the best place to take him; S-bend or Coronation Beach. We are planning on staying on the beach for a night or 2. Any thoughts, recommendations (other spots) appreciated.
Jase

Maybe a bit far???
I am not sure how the weather is shaping up Jase. From Seabreeze site it looks promising. I am teasing myself to do the S-Bend thing also over that long weekend. If you can't catch fish there it's not worth the fuel to go anywhere else LOL. Maybe drop me a PM and we can talk about it more.

I would be hitting
I would be hitting S-Bend(though have only fished there in the winter months myself so dont know how it fishes in March). Then you can also hit the Greenough River mouth at night for a possible Mulla or Shark.

I can account for S-bend
I can account for S-bend having plenty of mullas and tailor. Mullas tend to be more schoolie sizes though, odd big one about.
Be prepared for a shark or sambo though. Had plenty of bust offs/unstoppables up there. Yet to see that dhu though. Find a bombie and cast near it at night for them.
Odd jumbo tailor up there too, if you can find a school it can be great fun.

Teaming up with Jase
Were headed to the S-Bend with me as the tour guide.... . Weather looks great abeit a bit warm. We may need to seek shelter from the sun at The Walkaway Pub during the day and go nocturnal........

Go S Bend
Always the chance of a landbased dhuie around flatrocks or indeed any of the reef platforms south of S Bend around headbutts

S Bend
S bend will be the place to fish, Coros is full of weed, The weather is going to be great for a night fish. Agree with Spence lots of Tailor and Mulla around but be prepared for a few sharks. I have caught a few good Mulla including the one Im holding this time of year down there. Use fresh mullet for bait or Tailor if you can get it. Good Luck
