Rods and reels for boating

I'm an experienced surf angler, but want to go boating. I want to buy all the gear and extra's first before bying a boat. What rod and reel combo's is suited the best for fishing around Perth and Rotto. I would be looking at bottom fishing, spinning and game fishing. I am a big shimano fan and am keaning towards TLD's or Tyrnos and T-curve rods. Do I go mono or braid? What additional extra's is needed and is a must have?

Tld50 2 speed matched with T
Tld50 2 speed matched with T Curve is what I fish from boat both here and up north, it stops anything so I would say stick to your first thought. I use 2 spinning combos either my 1400 spheros with a T Curve or my penn 950 with penn power stick I use the later to stop big rankins in shallow water and it works a treat. Hope these help
