Rod for light lures.

I am heading back to steep point in Dec and have decided to buy a new rod.I would appreciate some advice from the pros. The main purpose for this rod will be for flipping the 30grm bibbed lures out as far as possible with the only problem being that it has to be able to stop a tuna. I saw 1 guy up there last time who constantly cast further than the others around him. It was longer and whippier than other rods and at a guess that it was around 9 to 10ft and in the 6-8kg range.
This is what I am after, i think.
9-10ft single piece rod, light weight, quite to very whippy so it casts 30grm weights , bit of grunt lower in the blank for stopping macs and tuna.
I also know a good rod builder so a blanck is also an option.

Live Fibres
I'd be thinking about a live fibre, beautiful rods with plenty of stick yet still light and easy to cast. Plenty of good options out there.

dude do you want custom or of the rack. and also how many $$$$$ do you wanna spend. if its an of the rack job. the live fibers are good but still could be better as the have a stiffer tip than most (obviously varys with different blanks). i my self use a custom ugly stick and custom graphite u.s.a. or sabre but the sabre is stupidly heavy . if you want to spend around the $200 mark have a lookm at some of the oz flex rods especially the ultra fast spin 10 its light and throws lures a mile .
cheers breno

I am happy to go custom, or
I am happy to go custom, or off the rack. I have found that custom is often cheaper, and better quality too I reckon. I would like to keep it under the $250 mark but in saying this there are 2 of us who want these rods, so any suggestions that are out of my budget would also be appreciated. Yep a lot of people use livefibres up there, almost the rod of choice I reckon.

Rods - Poida
Live Fibre - looks ok.
This model is 2.4m (7') in length with 6 aluminium oxide guides and silicone carbide tip. Suits boat or rock spin with 6-8kg line.

Nitro Innovator rods
A couple of people on FWA reckon the 3-6kg Nitro rods may be the go. They sound impressive on the cambells website and I guess i'll have to load one up to find out. They all seen to be 2 piece though which is dissapointing.

Wangler
This exact topic is in the latest Wangler. Using underpowered rods that will flick the light lures out to the fish, shame they did not mention any of the rods that will do the job.

Any Ideas Poida?
Seen anything that you like Poida or any other ideas on what you think will do the job?
I've heard the Nitro's are pretty good too for pirce. Haven't seen too many one pieces around lately in the specifications you want. Hopefully some of the tackle guru's can help you out, I'll send the Oceanside boys a message if they don't read this in the next day or two.

rod for light lure
Nup, haven't seen anything yet, just want it to be right, i don't often spend big dollars on rods so don't want to make the wrong choice. Will do some rounds when I get back to perth in 2 weeks with Graham who is also after a new/similar rod for the point.
Need to have a look at the Nitro's, although may be too underpowered.
The ozflex spin's, and the loomis also sound like a possibilty.
Reckon to try campbells and bluewater, and if the 2nd spare, emergancy water and gps are working may treck down to see gribbo at oceanside :)
Must also have a good look at the livefibres. Yep, alot of the rods seem to be 2 pieces, will be doing all i can to make sure its a single piece.

I'll go hunting...
I have a few rods in mind for ya simpo, i will go have a hunt tomoro through the books as the ones i am thinkin of i would have to order in but i think ozflex's are a goood option as they are well priced for what you get (coz locally made) the other is the live fibre texaliums, theey are a bit more pricey but ideal for wat u need as they are quite soft at the tip.Have to have a look at what is available in the 9-10 foot range. Keep ya posted!!
