Reel to match Shimano raider 701h Snapper
Submitted by Karak on Thu, 2014-01-16 06:58
Hi,
I recently bought a Shimano Raider 701h Snapper rod 5-10kg
What reel should i get?
I am torn between a stradic fj5000 and sustain fg 5000... Daiwa Td sol2 looks like another option.
How is the handling between these 3 reels above?
I am open to other brands though..
Thank you

out of the three you've
out of the three you've listed....if price is not a consideration I would go
-Sol 2
-Sustain
-stradic FJ
but of course the sol 2 is 50% more in cost.
as for value for money I would go
-Stradic FJ (can get stradic for 200ish loaded with braid so is cheapest....but still very decent reel)
-Sol 2
-Sustain
The xship on the stradic makes a BIG difference.
only issue with the stradic I have noticed is some flex when on high drag settings or locked up. (but doesn't seem to affect it.)
cheaper option to look at is the Freams ....close but not quite up with the reels you,ve mentioned
just my opinion though.

Stradic 5000 is an awesome
Stradic 5000 is an awesome reel. obviously one of the best value for money reels on the market so big sellers. handles very well in all conditions with big fish in shallow water and casting. very lightweight as well. doesnt handle heavy jigheads in any more than 50 metres but then what does until you go to stella prices. havent fished with sustain but very similar fishing reels.
