Feeling frustrated my son has a car he is changing the springs himself,
and he has got them off and is trying to put them back on. Are there any mechanics are Mandurah that
migjt be able to come and have a look?

Is he using spring
Is he using spring compressors? They will be almost impossible to replace without a set.

Changing coilovers
Changing strut springs/coilovers even with compressors is dangerous in my opinion. I have done it myself and thankfully nothing happened but it should only be attempted with a decent hydraulic press or in a proper strut press. Take the coils and springs to a suspension shop and they could do it for you in 10-15mins for minimal charge. I've spent 2hrs and bent a spring compressor banana shaped before I finally got in a car and drove to work and used the hydraulic press.
Its a 10min safe job when the correct tools are used. Ball breaking dangerous one when they aren’t…

Jack car up on chassis then
Jack car up on chassis, should be able to adjust the height off the diff by moving the car up or down to drop the arm back in. Disconnecting the swaybar will give you a lot move movement if you need it.
