Just wondering if anyone's been to quobba this last few weeks and how they got on? We are off that way again late July and are so pumped I'm curious to see how it's going.

got back from quobba on
got back from quobba on Saturday night, spent 3 weeks there and we had 3 or 4 good days. heaps of tuna schools around and the mackerel are there, so many blokes told us on our first day there that they are catching nothing, the next day we had 4 mackies and 3 pink snapper to the filleting table. shows you have to have a bait in the water champ should be a good trip hope you bring home some fillets like us!got about 12-13 mackerel the whole trip biggest being 28kg

Gone quiet
Was talking to the pro mackie fisherman from the Blowholes camp today and he's just pulled his boat out for a week because things have dropped right off. He did well on grey macks [broad bar] then every thing went quiet, could have been the cloud cover/ rain we got has dropped the sea temp enough to put them off the bite.

Yep one on the reasons I'm
Yep one on the reasons I'm not to concerned with going to quobba, is seems like a very hit and miss spot and may end up being a very slow trip and the day after you leave picks up again.
always looking for a new challenge!!

we spent a week there last
we spent a week there last month and hooked tonnes of fish but had them all eaten. We just couldnt get on he lower ledges because of the swell so that limits your choices for spots.
