Quick morning fish, Claire got her first Coral Trout and Queeny.

Hello all. Headed out for a quick morning fish today. Wind was blowing fairly hard from the south east, so we snuck around to the northern side of conexion island. Lots of bomies and reef along the edge of the island, so i tied on a crome slice for Claire. With some great driving by the skipper, i put her on the spot. After a couple of casts, Claire was happy to pull in her first Coral Trout.

We then did some bottom fishing in around 10m of water and caught a couple of nice sized trickie snapper. Had to stay in close at the moment as the current is racing. We then headed around into the channel, hoping to find some birds working. After a mile or so we could see some action, so we pounded into the breeze heading south. The birds were going crazy, bait fish jumping out of the air. After about 10 mins of chasing the school and changing lures, i finally got Claire onto her first Queenfish. It gave her some curry, and she was happy when she landed it. Although she didnt like them because they stink. We had a mint day on the water, now time to put some Redbacks on ice, and get ready for the dockers game!
