Just 2 questions,
Can Mullet be caught on a fly, and if so what type ?
Can the condition of your outboard PROP affect performance greatly, and are Stainless steel props so, so much better than aluminium ?
Thanks guys.

Yes, yes, and depends
Mullet on a fly - absolutely but what species of mullet diamond scale, yellow eye or what
Yes it can cause all sorts of problems if under-sized, wrong pitch for the application etc
Stainless has less flex and can provide better performance but in real reefy country a softer ally might ???? be a better option 'cos you may be able to straighten it enough to limp home where a stainless = nuh

Hey Sunshine just the local
Hey Sunshine just the local mullet I suppose if that helps, I am hearing of them in abundance around the place, and i've seen them down mandurah and hillarys harbour, I've never tried fly rod fishing, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Yes and Yes I used to burley
Yes and Yes
I used to burley Mullet and Milkys up on pieces of bread and then throw a bread fly at them. Good fun and those large mullet go very well.
Props make a huge difference. A prop needs to be matched to suit your hull type, load, hp, engine rpm. A whole lot of different factors come into play.
Stainless props have less flex than ally so they are more efficient.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

I have the correct size,
I have the correct size, pitch etc prop for my motor, it was more the ali V's stainless and good condition V's an Ali prop that doesnt have any bends buckles in it, but has worn rounded edges and a few scrapes on it, as opposed to a shiney stainless knife type edge to the blades.

I second the bread fly or tiny shrimp pattern
Seen many caught that way but more in Victoria than in the west

I heard stainless props can
I heard stainless props can act as a pelagic fish teaser
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Stainless do have less flex
Stainless do have less flex but biggest advantage is maybe thinner blade hence more sharper shape.
