Prawning in Australind?

Hi all,

Thought I might have a crack at prawning the next few nights, but I've never done it from land before so just after some tips. Went and picked up a prawn dab net and a pair of waders and have a led lenser headlamp to spot them at night.
Was just gonna head down to the sand flats either side of the boat ramp/channel at the end of Paris rd? If any other locals have any tips it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Try the channel that runs out just at the start of the scenic drive, not as obvious to visitors and used to produce some good catches, long time ago though.

Went lastnight and went pretty well for first attempt. Biggest problem was they kept going through the holes in the net, it's a 'prawn scoop net' but not sure if that's what I should be using? What net are you using harropino?

head out towards the cut, where the ''s'' bend is just b4 the houses out there (been demolished now) -there is a small car park that is now covered in burnout marks a small track leads to the estuary, was there a year ago scooping for crabs and the place was littered with decent sized prawns just take mozzie spray there will a few (million) around after dark
