 big tides and rising tides,

big tides and rising tides, it's all about the water movement.

Poppers i'm no expert on, all depends on how much you wanna spend. The Halco Rooster in the haymaker size and the biggest R2S Dumbell poppers are a good/cheap start, it hurts the hip pocket seeing a brand new $60 lure with leader. hooks and split rings head to a reef never to return, i'd rather see $25 head south and learn from there.

The Cuberas are a great

The Cuberas are a great option for the price. Depending on what rod you are using, I'd be looking at the 125/150gr size.

Pretty cheap ($40) or so, and well made. I have one that's accounted for at least 20GTs and a really solid YFT plus many reefies, and still going strong!

Good lure to use for treacherous terrain.

My fave are craftbait GT3s in the 150gr, but they are pretty pricey (around $90-$100) and hard to come by.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

but shops certainly know how to sting ya for em...... they cost em 6 bucks landed comin from indonesia...(which is where they are made)  and then on sell them for 40 - 50 dollars...bit of a rort if you ask me..... but if you want to pay that , they will account for some good GTs

That is a pretty good markup but everyone has to make a dollar
