Popper fishing info

Have decided to give popper and lure chucking from the boat a crack. Any suggestions on rod length, reel size (shimano or daiwa), line, lures. I live  in dampier so local info will be appreciated (I don't expect you to give away spots as finding them is half the fun). I await your expertise. Cheers peoples!

Ray used a 8k last time we was in exxy and it went fine .. It was actually really good . But I'd hope you would catch bigger fish lol.. If you only catch 15kg fish the 8k would be great

Try Boiler Rock with a Pe4-6 outfit (preferred rod length around 7'), it's no secret up there (well it wasn't when I lived there). Plenty of mid size golden and giant trevs...lots of sharks too
