It’s a no from me. Those waters and flats around Pt Grey are beautiful and crystal clear and are easy access for families with small dinghys from the two boat ramps adjacent to it. Surely the Peel/Harvey system is already under enough pressure?
The people who are planning to build this do not give a hoot in hell about what it will do to the environment because they won't be living in the area.
You will need a visa and your passport to go any where near Point Grey as 99% of the blocks will be sold of the plan and it won't be west aussies who will be buying in there.
What will the local businesses say hey this will create employment and a great place to live blah blah blah crap I say.
When they start digging the channel from the cut to Point Grey the soil they disturb from the bottom of the estuary will poison every living thing in the estuary the only crabs you will find in Mandurah will be on the toilet seats.
Why destroy a productive crab nursery for a few people to get rich of richer people. Plenty of unproductive land further inland for housing, and the people who will be able to afford to live there could keep a boat in a storage rack.
...that area is rich in bird and fish life...was catching herring there one morning and witnessed four different types of sharks/rays coming in to investigate. Salmon/tailor/Skippy ranging from juvies to 40cm plus.
This proposal would benefit absolutely NO ONE apart from developers and overseas buyers who are only interested in holiday homes and investment properties. More jobs my ass.
