Pack a couple of big garbage
Pack a couple of big garbage bags in the car. Then it's easy to tip a bag of ice in and keep in the boot.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

I use black plastic rubbish
I use black plastic rubbish bags. They are reasonably tough and don’t leak. Then I deal with the fish at home. But I got to use it just once so far. :(

Ive used the black plastic. Two or three bags to cover, fill with ice. Hessian is also a +1 for me.

100l
Mate I carry a 100l from extreme coolers in my car, it has come in handy plenty of times for this. I also have a couple of hessian bags in my car that I also use and could be a substitute for an esky if you have to do a long walk into a spot. when wet hessian acts like air conditioning with a bit of a breeze.
one way to guarantee a big fish is leave the big esky at home;) I did this the other week and a mate proved this theory by pulling out a 13kg mulloway, we used the hessian technique for that 1

I use one of these. Granted
I use one of these. Granted it goes on the boat, but would sit across the back seat of your car no worries.

Catch it, photograph
Catch it, photograph it....and bang the fillets off it....nothing special....just leave the frame etc at the beach/rocks and sort it out at home...should be able to fit in a small esky then.

If I caught a big fish landbased
I'd put it in the passenger seat with it's head out the window and claim the glory for the trip home...
