Painting Reels

Just wandering if anyone has painted there reels cause i have a saltist 50 black and its all scratched up and have been looking into painting it so just looking for any advice, guides and generaly how to do it.

Not sure on this one but personally i'd leave it with battle scars LOL. If your gunna strip it down have you thought about powder coating ?
