Oyster Reef-Kalbarri?
Submitted by eddie on Mon, 2009-11-02 17:28
So I'm heading up to Kalbarri for the rest of the week, and I'm looking forward doing a bit of LB fishing while I'm there.
I've read a bit on here and elsewhere about catching a boat to fish Oyster Reef. Can someone give me some more detailed info on this? What gear do I need to take? What rigs? How do I catch a boat back?
Looks like maybe the wind won't be so bad while were there....if seabreeze has any idea...which it may not! lol
any and all advice on LB fishing for tailor and sharks up there are greatly appreciated. Not asking for any secret spots just some tactical tips!
cheers!

wind
apparently you can get a boat across and ring the bell and it will pick you up. enquire down at the boat hire. never done it myself
If it gets too windy take some lighter gear and try up river where it will be more protected for bream, whiting and maybe jacks

mullas
the mullas are on the bite atm and with this mullaway moon 2nite its gona be on. bring heaps of rigs if ya gona fish off oyster reef on the bottom, not much sand atm so its easy to get snaggered up and lose gear. go see deano or wayne at the tackle shop and they can help you. blue holes has been good for tailor in the morning and syphons around the corner has been good in the arvo for tailor, chinnies for mullaway at night or on tide change with the dredge pumping now its gona get gooood! send us a pm with ya nr and ill buzz ya when your up here n take ya for a fish if ya keen. tangles
