Not a bad size fish. Some of these big ones don't survive after a long fight. Appears this one was loooked after well.
Keen jumping in with it at the end.

Now that’s a hell of a hammerhead
Great to see that time was put into seeing that it’s release went well for the sharks survival well done to those involved.

I remember back in 1972 on Garden Island, my dad and my uncle got pretty pissed one afternoon, somebody decided it would be a good idea to set the net. So they set off in the old dinghy with a seagull outboard and they went and set the net under the bridge to the island which was under construction at the time. In the morning, they went to pull the net but couldn’t find it. Later on when the old Trixen came in, they mentioned there was a net floating in the middle of the sound. So off went my uncle and my dad to find the net, but in a bigger boat, they soon found the net and it was really heavy, but they managed to bring it to the surface only to find a huge hammer head in it, that shark went 12 1/2 feet.
