OJ 3000P v JM PE 5N as well as rod for sambo jigging!

Hi guys! thinking of getting an OJ 3000P or a JM PE 5N. I will be loading PE 6 line for jigging!
which one would you guys prefer?
Also i know that the JM has a clicking sound when cranking due to the 2 anti reverse dogs! however there is also a silent JM powerspell! Is the AR on the silent JM just as good as the ori?
IM also looking for a PARABOLIC rod to match the above reels.
Thinking of a JM Free Jigger or Ti Evo( 350g or 400g).

However the AMJ only works jigs up to 330g... wanting sth that can comfortably handle up to 400g.
if u guys have any other rods to suggest pls do! :lol:

Jm ti 300g rod will jig 350-400 no problems and you will get a better bend

Not sure of your budget for rods but a couple of others to throw into the mix are the Black Hole Cape Cod Special 250 and the Synit Deepshot. And then here is of course the newer Synit Kaha. Not much help am I!
As for the reel you probably need to decide whether you want a lever drag or a star drag the start again with the choices available.

if you want a super strong reel then go the jm with the original anti reverse, you dont even notice the clicking once your cranking in the big fellas

In my opinion OJ>JM.
But there are a few factors:
1 - I like star drag for jigging more than lever
2 - I hate the noise that the JM makes and the silent one does not have the same AR or strength
3 - the retrieve on the normal JM is way too slow for me. I havent tried the N model, but this should be better.
For rods I love my Smith 52H (with an OJ on it currently) but really want a Synit kaha 300 aswell. Hard to find though as the only Aus stockist is out of stock.
The JM Evo is probably a good option but I've only used the 150gr model (which I like) so won't comment on the 300gr.
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

I do like a star drag better
I do like a star drag better myself but lever drags do have a stronger drag, but have you tried holding onto more than 10kg of drag? The purple will give you heaps of attention :) for this reason i have also fitted a jm purple t-bar to my trinidad 20dc. Looks soooo gay lol!!!!

My favourite thing about lever drag is always being able to physically see what your drag is set to
For example I've set my jm at 8kg at strike, and I fish with it about half way between free and strike so when a fish hits the jig or bait the rod isn't ripped out of my hands. When I hookup I flick it to strike and fight the fish, if the fish is taking too much line for my liking I click it forward a bit more (around 15kg at full) then back to strike when the fish calms down.
Much easier to fish with than a star drag imo

I tend to agree with Spanish, lever draw allows you to see at a glance exactly where your drag is set. can't do that with a star drag.

Main reason why I like star
Main reason why I like star drag is its just a flick of a switch and your in freespool. Also the freespool in a star drag is a lot "freer" than a star drag because the drag plates are connected to the side of a the spool in a lever drag.

oh! ok thks! hmm but the OJ does not make any noise when cranked rite? so what type of anti reverse system does it run on? I mean just a single AR bearing for the OJ would not be as strong as the JM's system altho the JM is abit noisier.....
Hmm idk why but im leaning towards the JM! hahaha. i feel that with a lower gear ratio u get more cranking power. and from the multitude of fishes caught with JMs I dun think the speed would be too slow for jigging.

It has a silent anti reverse pawl on a cog like system. Most reels only have 1 pawl some have 2. I cant tell you without looking at scematics. The ones that make noise have a spring behind the pawl so the pawl is always engaged to the cog. These systems are all "backup" to the antireverse bearing. Pretty much every reel now has 1 anti reverse bearing. Some now have 2 and rely on the second bearing as backup without the cog and pawl. I think this is the case with accurate? (someone correct me?)
I tend to ignore retrieve ratio and look at line retrieve as all reels have a different spool diameter. I find 80cm - 100cm per crank is good for jigging, although my Trinidad is high speed and 117cm/crank and I find it ok to jig with you just have to make longer strokes, but I also don't do a lot of seriola jigging. lol. Hope this sheds some light.

the evolution titanium and freejigger are different blanks. totally different compared to a mc works. iv had 4 evos and been happy. and 1 frejigger custom that im stoked with. all depends on how u work your jig. mc works r great but very expensive from wot iv seen, and very tippy. iv fort 1 fish on a mc works due to a mte hurting his shoulder and didnt feel as powerful as my JM 3 kingsM. id say my opinion is from some1 with a fair bit of experience when it comes to bending rods
