Ok not fishing related but my roof solar hot water system tank is leaking not even 10 years old . Got quote to replace it one was $4,575 . ok thats to much what about a gas unit instead . Quote $3,174. Hmm rather steep .
The solar panels are in good condition many years left . My question is can you just get a tank to replace the old one . If so where ? Us pensioners are not made of money .
Any help would be appreciated .

Yeah I'm pretty sure you can replace panels but when the tank leaks it's fucked.I've just been told about the heat pump system, it basically works on a similar principle to reverse cycle a/c. Apparently very economical to run,no need for booster,the system is installed ground level and different size storage tanks to pick from

Yeah you can replace just the tank 9n solar. Had one done roughly 8 years ago and cost sub $1000

Yes found out today you can buy the taks sepperatly . Als you can buy second hand units from solarhart .
