Northern suburbs fishing spots

hey everyone just moved to hillarys and am hoping to get some advice on where to go fishing north of the river hoping to head out 2moro night or sat... land based only 
not fussed on what to catch just happy to get out. any spots that you can chuck in crab nets would be fantastic also

yanchep to far?
the south side of the club cap groin just north of yanchep has a nice gutter, ive only fished it a couple of times and had some luck with decent taylor plenty of herring and whiting and have heard a few stories of people getting snapper off the groin in winter. only be about 30 to 40 minute drive.

i usually go fishing at hillarys :P infact im going down there tomoz, for abit of stingray action or a run from a buff bream :P always good fun :) i usually fish the inside of the harbour, i seem to get more fish there, more so than the ocean side, caught a few herring off there when it calm though :)
