Picture 3 looks interesting,
Picture 3 looks interesting, the one with the diver in it. If you look closely below the diver the bottom is all staghorn coral. I have only ever seen that stuff growing in big amounts like that up along the coral coast Jurien northwards and the Abrolhos. Maybe the term South West Cape refers to the South West region of Australia.

Staghorn
There are patches of staghorn growing in 50+metres of water west of Hamelin bay and another that I know of north of Cowaramup bay in 10 metres

I cant seem to find any info
I cant seem to find any info on the web on any species of staghorn coral growing in water more than about 35-40m. sure it may not be in water off hamelin thats 50ft?
Just found it interesting as i grew up diving in geographe bay and between the capes and have never seen a piece of it. Wouldnt doubt it though as i have seen heaps of other different types of tropical corals. Would love to know where some of it is as, i know this may sound strange, i love taking underwater pics of it in macro mode. To me they are some of the most awesome types of coral. For my sake canarvonite i hope they arn't in water over 30m as i generally dont like going any deeper than that.

Wow. That video is amazing!
The Potato Cod was unreal. I thought I read somewhere once that the Potato Cod was endangered. Does anyone know if that’s the case? I guess I could just Google it, but what’s the point when this website is a fishing encyclopaedia.

surprising
that baldy just floats on in to check it all out and there's a tantalising live occy sitting out there all exposed for the taking and he passes it up? and here's me wondering why i can't catch the suckers even with the best presentation of fresh skinned occy... picky buggers!
