Hi Damo
First of all great choice for a fishing holiday, Phil is a great host and the place is always clean which is a credit to his management and the people that vist.
Lefroy Bay is situated inside the main reef and is quite sheltered from the heavy swell, it does have a rocky point at the nortern end which can improve your beach fishing choices. I cannot comment too much about shore based fishing as I have always used a boat to get outside the reef, but many people just use small dingy and stay inside the reef with great success.
I think you would have no problem fishing off the beach at night, but rig up with heavy tackle as I have seen many reels busted off.

or
As muppet has said, 10km south of burkett or 100km from Exmouth or 120km from Minilya or 45km from coral bay. ;) (whichever way you want to look at it)
Make sure you got your 4wd serviced and looked after!

We go
every year in August but mainly fish offshore. When are you going?
The times we've fished inside the reef have been largly unproductive. Few Spango's, squid and small Trevally.
Not sure if it's more productive this time of year with the warmer water???
