Almost.had that happen to me
Main pillar on trailer snapped and I spotted the boat "rearing up" in the rear view mirror......bluntly luck played a HUGE part in me getting away with it....... I was able to feather the brakes over a long distance including fluking a green light.....had it turned red well I expect much the same would have happened. Was a few years ago but the thought of it still raises the pulse and blood pressure.

Thats a classic... Fark
Thats a classic...
Fark Sunshine, like you said if it had turned red you would have had an interesting decison to make....
I had 4 Hereford bulls in a tandem trailer once towing it with a GQ patrol ute on a country dirt road going up a slight incline, as soon as i started coming down the otherside i felt the trailer shunt me forward and i then realised something had let go, as it turned out the actual hitch not far behind the ball seat completly snapped through the cast.
The trailer gave me a decent shunt which sent the Nissan sideways which in turn rolled the trailer on its side...
The bulls all brushed themselves off and fucked off into the scrub....
Of course it was right on knock off time but i had to spend the next few hours sorting the trailer and finding the bastards in the bush!!

Heresford Steer
I had a Heresford Steer attempt to sit on me in the front seat on the way back from Moora on a Saturday night at 8PM. Luckily the aerodynamics of the car skidded him on the bonnet (left his bum print in it and could see the contour of the battery terminals), smashed the windscreen and then went over the roof on the drivers side. Scared the shit (literally) out of him and me. Ranger came around 30mins later to put him down and I had a rest in Bindoon.

Trailer didn't disconnect
The winch pillar on the trailer let go at the bottom plate weld. We wrote off an old Fj55 land cruiser on the SW Highway just out of Byford when we hit a herd of black poll cattle, killed five, one came up over the bull bar slamming into the windscreen shearing off both pillars but the screen amazingly held. Didn't eat beef for a year as the smell of dead cattle really turned me off red meat for a while. Bluntly when your numbers up its up and thankfully mine obviously isn't YET

you got that right . no
you got that right . no choice when your number is drawn.
as far as the smell of dead beef goes, the only time i want to smell dead beef again is when i cook it, certainly not the best. the smell at an abatoir was quit bad but not quite as bad as the roadkill
