new plastics rod

Unfotunately my Daiwa advantage plastics rod came to an untimely demise last night whilst consuminmg beer & testing drag pressures of reels! Has anyone got any recommendations for a replacement? Looking for a line class of around 5-8kg. The nitro viper 6-8kg inshore looks good. Aiming to use it for jig heads up to 3/4oz.

Heaps
Theres heaps on the market to suit.
Dependant on budget, theres rods like TD Saltwaters, Luvias, SOLs, Tierra etc. Which all have that 10-17lb rating with 3/4-1oz(ish) cast weight.
Otherwise yeh the Nitro Viper, Mag But, Distance Spin. Once again ranging from 4-8kg casting up to 3/4oz. Fitted with Alconites and cork grips keeping them nice n comfy to fish with.
Shimano Powercast if you like. 6'7" 5-10kg, casts up to 45g which could be pushed a touch more. Top of the range guides and come in not to dear.
I fish with a custom United Composite 704DHX which is a dream to fish with, that has stopped some seriously good fish.
Even check the Crony range of rods which have a wicked value for money, built on Toray blanks. Hard to find a Jap blank which is pretty cheap..
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Sam

Samurai reactions are damn
Samurai reactions are damn nice, I used the 6-12lb today on a couple of nice little sambo and YTK's up to 4kg with 1/2 oz jigheads, I would buy the 10-17lb for any serious fish though, i was just pissing around today playing with it as I just bought it.
I have a nice TD Cielo I will sell for $150 which is 8-15 from memory, my best sambo on it went 34lb so it does load up well.

td saltwater
Yeh the td saltwater looks good. tierra a step down maybe from the advantage.
Sol always seem a bit stiff in the tip.
Looking to spend around $250 mark. Bit of a Daiwa fan but could be persuaded on a shimano if the right one came along

I have a td saltwater and a tierra (old one with cork grips) and it depends what type of fishing you want to do with each.
The saltwater is an awesome rod. Really punchy and heaps of grunt. Really good at chucking lures, and pulling those fish out. However, to be honest, it completely sucks ass if your working plastics deep. The rod is too stiff in the butt and the grips are a little too short. Really tiring work pulling fish up deep on it. The tierra is a low slower and more parabolic, no where near as good at punching lures out, but because it bends more progressively its much nicer for deep water plastics. Can pull up heaps of fish and be fine. The saltwater you're feeling sore after one fish. Its a role reversal on the surface though. Not that you'd necessarily contrast it with the tierra, but the tierra's just the example of a slower more parabolic rod. Should be some options in nicer rods with a similar action if deep is what you want though.
Cant say i'm much of a fan of the nitros. Never really seen one with a nice working curve.
