I have it pritty good up here in Exxy ,we get out pritty often to put our set net in to catch some mullet and some trevs and queenfish for fishing out wide
we also chase whiting thro the hotter mounths for a feed and bait also .
What i was asking is what does ever other net fishers chase and where ,its just a general thing ??
i love getting out after work and setting the net and having a beer waiting

We used to get great blue swimmer crabs
Caught in the net when chasing mullet north of Learmonth - those bloody little blue spot rays were a nuisance though
Set netting is pretty much banned around all waters metro and south as far as I can recall

Mullet
Mostly chase Mullet, but have moved to just using a throw net now( tired of explaining that it is legal to net in certain areas) With a draw string throw net i can get those big mullet with no problems.

maily mullet and herring in
maily mullet and herring in the mandurah estuary... in saying that, I currently have a hole in my 30m net halfway down that needs repairing from last season.... top to bottom and 1.5m wide in thigh deep water. no splash when it happened & the net didnt move an inch! almost like it was purposely cut with scissors.... im guessing rainbows and lolly pops & dont want to think otherwise!

Acclimatised
Once you live up this way you get acclimatised to the weather and same as down south , any drop in temperature you feel it.
40 degrees up there is common and locals take no notice but all the tourists head inside to the air conditioning
