Need Some answers to sum possibly silly questions.

By no means am i new to fishing but definatly new to this site and alot of the lingo going around, so im keen to learn a few new things.  Was wondering if u can shed some light on a few things.

1. My rod has a line class of 5-10kg?  Does this mean dont go under and dont go over?

2. Demersal?  type of fish i figured

3. Demersal Jigging?  Never heard of it lol

4.  Are u allowed to use a Throw net in perth?

5. Can u cast lures of a Beach rod or is it best just to use a smaller rod?

Thanks to anyone and all that can answer me.  Knowing me i will have plenty of questions About other stuff at a later date

Can fish with any line you want on it. The rating just gives a guide as to what the rod is best suited for.

2. Demersal?  type of fish i figured

Demersal = bottom species.

3. Demersal Jigging?  Never heard of it lol

Jigging - bouncing metal jigs along the bottom 5m of water (general) for the Point 2.  Check out Cahal's vid from the other day for a pretty good overview of how it works.

4.  Are u allowed to use a Throw net in perth?

http://www.fish.wa.gov.au/Documents/Recreational%20fishing/Licences/rec_licence_netting.pdf

5. Can u cast lures of a Beach rod or is it best just to use a smaller rod?

Somewhere in between.  8-9ft rod would cover most scenarios I would think.

I'm sure someone will elaborate on those points, but something to get started with anyway...

#1, cant tell you for certain.

#2, they are any fish that are resident as where palegic means they travel fair distances.

#3, is using a jig for fishing for demersals (ie Dhuies)

#4, dont think so but check the regulations on netting.

#5, shouldnt have any probs casting a lure with a beach rod, just check the weight suggested, if not sure look up the manufactureres specs on line,

no harm in questions, just not the stupidly obvious ones.

i take it you are new to perth
