Navman Tracker 5607 - Problems
Submitted by dalaisc on Tue, 2010-01-05 10:21
Good Morning Peoples
I have a Navman 5607 that I bought from a fellow forum member and unfortunately the receipt that came with the unit was lost. The problem we are having is that last week the screen just died on us. When the sun shines on the unit you can see that it is recording stuff but it just does not elluminate.
I called Navico but without a receipt they will not speak with me. I just want to get it fixed and was wondering if anyone out there could point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Conrad

Navman/Northstar went bust didn't they?
I dont know if it is a realistic option, but I'd get a new unit.
The cost of repairing an LCD panel by a third party (or even Navico) will probably be the same as buying a new unit.

Try!
My old Navman colour sounder did the same thing Conrad and they replaced under warranty but had receipt. One of the many common problems Navman/Northstar had hense why when Navico bought them out they shut that line down and focused on Lowrance which has low returns & a bigger market place!
Ring; Ray if he's still around as he's a very knowledgable guy in marine electronics. As mentioned by Huggy but, you may need to weigh up the repair cost (then have it happen again) versus a new replacement unit etc
