A good stretch of beach off Marine Parade is a another good spot to look at the schools that come through. Just stand ontop of the hill bit and look see if you can spot them and then just walk down and berley hard to keep them around. But I have no clue on what size hooks to use and what bait.
My reels screaming zzzzzzz.... awwww damn it, its another boat!
All the best for the future fishing trips. Cheers.... Jangles
It's along Cottesloe mate. If your coming from South of River mate, just pop onto Beach Street (one that you go on to go to North Mole) then go right at the traffic lights and keep heading along Curtin Avenue and then do a left and your on Marine Parade and good little beach.

Hillaries inside the marina early morning, around where the jetty is. Has to be early morning and I only ever caught one by foul hooking, and they have some big buggers aswell.

lower reaches!
Plenty in the lower reaches, ie Keane street and Claremont bay. You just need a silver retriever lure, works a treat if you want them as bait!

try square hooks.....
'orribly illegal, but hey, if ya gotta catch one, that'd be the most fool proof method...
p.s. plenty of 'em on the flats out along the pt walter spit. Never managed to nab one yet though

Grain Terminal
I often see them in the shallows at Kwinana Grain Terminal. Not that hard to catch with bait, I often get them when fishing for herring.
