You're never guaranteed to catch anything while fishing unfortunately. That's why it's called fishing and not catching. Perhaps just stay local and hit up the swan mate.
Plenty of bream in there...only ever caught little ones but saw some decent models been caught up there a few months back when the water levels were low, mullet as well....saw a bloke who caught a juvie salmon out of the river too.
Such is fishing that your never guaranteed to catch anything on any given trip but as far as I am concerned its a great spot to waste a few hours even if its a bit of a hike.
yes as Mattb said that rock groyne thing if you fish the south side in the morning there are usually a few herring around. head north (4wd) up to the 3 mile reef for tailor, herring, whiting, shark and ray etc

Yep, two charters (broome and Darwin) and 12 hours of air travel and nothing caught. Trip out to garden island, catching herring. Funny how it works
