MISSING DOLLAR!

Three backpackers went to a hostel in America.
The cost of an overnight stay was $30 for the three friends, so they split the cost 3 ways, ($10 each).
the next day the owner was so happy with their behaviour, he gave them a $5 disount and asked the bell boy to give the three men their $5.
to make things simple, the three men gave the bell boy a $2 tip so they could split the remainder $3 evenly, ($1 each)
so end of the day, the three men paid $9 each, and the bell boy kept $2.
9x3=27 plus the $2 the bell boy kept = $29.
WHERE IS THE MISSING DOLLAR?!

8.33+1=9.33

28+2=30

He bought the car off Perth Gumtree from some lady in Darwin and paid for it by Paypal via a Western Union money transfer in Nigeria.
Little did he know the car was stolen.
A Man recovering on the road after being king-hit by bouncer at front of hotel looks up and recognises his stolen car, confronts the driver and call the cops.
Meanwhile, in the time it took for the cops to arrive, the Nigerian crime syndicate has hijacked a plane from Darwin to come to Perth and celebrate by blowing the stolen car proceeds on a big night out in Northbridge.
Nigerian Crime syndicate arrives at the same hotel and gets into a gang fight with a bunch of "local" street-kids who are also out celebrating after rolling an old lady for for her weekly pension.
Recovering king-hit man gets knifed and dies while trying to break up the fight.
Nigerian crime syndicate & Street gang all escape.
Cops finally arrive to find original bloke sitting on the kerb having a stiff drink whilst pondering his dilemma ??
Cops then fine him $1000 for street drinking
It's a long shot, but nothing would surprise me the way "justice" works these days ???
