mid week funny

How true this is. What in the world happened?

Class of 1962 vs Class of 2010
You should know that by today's standards none of us was supposed to ever make it.
HIGH SCHOOL -- 1962 vs. 2010
Scenario 1:
Jack goes quail hunting before school and then pulls into the school parking lot with his shotgun in his truck's gun rack.
1962 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.
2010 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.

Scenario 2:
Johnny and Mark get into a fist fight after school.
1962 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up buddies.
2010 - Police called and SWAT team arrives -- they arrest both Johnny and Mark. They are both charged with assault and both expelled even though Johnny started it .

Scenario 3:
Jeffrey will not be still in class, he disrupts other students.
1962 - Jeffrey sent to the Principal's office and given a good paddling by the Principal. He then returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.
2010 - Jeffrey is given huge doses of Ritalin. He becomes a zombie. He is then tested for ADD. The family gets extra money (SSI) from the government because Jeffrey has a disability.

Scenario 4:
Billy breaks a window in his neighbor's car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.
1962 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college and becomes a successful businessman.
2010 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse , Billy is removed to foster care and joins a gang. The state psychologist is told by Billy's sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison. Billy's mom has an affair with the psychologist.

Scenario 5:
Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.
1962 - Mark shares his aspirin with the Principal out on the smoking dock .
2010 - The police are called and Mark is expelled from school for drug violations. His car is then searched for drugs and weapons.

Scenario 6:
Pedro fails high school English.
1962 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English and goes to college.
2010 - Pedro's cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against the state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English is then banned from core curriculum. Pedro is given his diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.

Scenario 7:
Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from the Fourth of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle and blows up a red ant bed.
1962 - Ants die.
2010 - ATF, Homeland Security and the FBI are all called. Johnny is charged with domestic terrorism. The FBI investigates his parents - and all siblings are removed from their home and all computers are confiscated. Johnny's dad is placed on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.

Scenario 8:
Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee . He is found crying by his teacher, Mary. Mary hugs him to comfort him.
1962 – In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.
2010 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in State Prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy.

It show how stupid we have become!

Sad society

Sad society we live in & so very true. What happened to the rap across the knuckles or slipper by the teacher. Certainly made you think twice before doing something wrong again!!

How come the general public can see this but not the governments around the world!!!

So very true? Hysteria much, haha.

I thought the last line was funny: " It show how stupid we have become!", for more than one reason.

OMG

Wed, 2011-11-09 12:29

I think I still have scars on the bum from the cane. I have no "nervous disorders", dont see therapist, went to Uni and got a degree, and hopefully most of the time function as a normal person. Certainly dont fret about the canings.

I have only got one problem!! I love fishing? Must be the cane that caused that.

Crazy world we live in now

Wed, 2011-11-09 13:37

A few examples.

  1. On the TV today is an advert for an Aboriginal cultural show being held in Perth. On the advert an Aboriginal elder man states something like "we are the black people" (No racial connotations here in any way. Just stating some examples). Tiger Wood's ex-caddie refers to Tiger's ass as black. Well folks, it probably is... But it was considered racist that he said what he did.
  2. A while back I redeployed a person in a workshop to admin because he was continually having diabetic fits because he didn't look after himself. Called St John at least 3 times. The consequence of that was I was haulded before the equal opportunities commission for discrimination against a person with a disability.
  3. I was having lunch in a common room one day with a mate. The executive secretaries were there as well and making jokes about mere males. I suggest probably referring to their piss weak husbands or partners. My mate told a joke which I thought was hillarious LOL. Ended up my mate and I were councelled for making sexist remarks/jokes.
  4. It goes on.......

It's crazy....

Double Standards

Wed, 2011-11-09 17:43

Yes, my son goes to the school recently embroiled in the Lords Prayer controversy. I was one of those that stood up and said it should stay, 74% said it should stay, but guess what. It was removed. All because we don't want to offend minorities. Never mind about the majority who all grew up with it. On a similar note, have a read of this

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1940s, 50s AND 60s

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese, tuna from a can and didn’t get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, our baby bassinettes were covered with bright coloured lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention the risks we took hitch-hiking.

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or airbags.

Riding in the back of a Ute on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soft drinks with sugar in it, but we weren’t overweight beause….

WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were OK.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Play stations, Nintendo’s, Xboxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no mobile phones, no personal computers, no internet or internet chat rooms………WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given air rifles for our tenth birthday, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes!

We rode our bikes or walked to a friend’s house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them!

Rugby league juniors had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn’t had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of apparent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem-solvers and inventors ever!

The past fifty years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had the freedom, failure, success and responsibility and we learned

HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

And YOU are one of them!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good.

And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn’t it?!

Yet wouldnt it have been that

Yet wouldnt it have been that generation responsible for the forming the parents of todays kids? As well as implementing and pushing all the things you dont like now?  Its not the kids of today that are responsible for the world they live in ;)

hey don't look at me, my son

Thu, 2011-11-10 10:41

 hey don't look at me,

my son has had his fair share of dirt to eat, fall out fo trees and " harden the F!@#$ up talks" from his parents lol

We come from the way of life that says:

kids bounce and get up

tears last 1 minute and then you run along.

not every person is a "evil thing" trying to seduce the young

what was good for me as a kid it good for mine!

oh and yes he is ADHD and those that have met Kieran know he runs at 1000mph all day long lol, we do use measure to calm him  and he does take medication, then again so do I when I'm being Adult ADHD

but he is stll a free spirit and wild child like we want him to be.... ( just not sure he needs a rifle yet!! , but a spudgun is in the making  )

Don't know whose parents?

Thu, 2011-11-10 15:58

I don't either. I have instilled in my son that not all men are sex offenders, that so long as he doesn't break any bones and that he gets up, he will be alright after a good cry. He did eat a lot of dirt also, and no, he does not have any allergies either. Yes, he does have a very fast paced mind, but no, I don't believe he has any letters to name him. He is just a NORMAL kid. But anyway, who is to say what is normal. I had similar issues he had, but my parents were told I was lazy. Not ADHD or ADD. AND THAT I WOULD GROW OUT OF IT. And guess what? I DID!!!
