Mid Range Casting Lures

 Hi All

Just wondering ehat mid size stickbsits and poppers everyone is using at the moment.

I am going to ningaloo and trying yo fill the lure box a bit more before I go. Wanting yo target Spangos, Trout, Queenies, Trevs and anything else that will take a lure.

I already have some Maria blues codes and bullchops aswell as some smaller Strada poppers and assorted diving lures.

Whst can people rrecommend? I will only be fishing them on 15lb so want to stay around the size of bullchops. Would like to use the lures for tailor and salmon when I get back aswell.

Cheers Jayce

bluecodes and bullchops are at the top of my list.

another favourite is the sinking Sebile Stickshad 114's.

Dual Adagio, Monsoon Breakers and a Northcraft (think its the 80ssm) all ok also.

Havent tried them yet, but IMA Barbarosa's come highly regarded.

Bullchops are the go to. But also the humble twisty should NEVER be left out of a northern tackle box, especially for some of the species mentioned.

The bullchops and bluecodes do very well . I would also take a few shimano wax wings along(the boy) , some gt ice creams and some iron candy spoons .

Stickbaits/poppers

Hey Jayce

We highly recommend the Duel Adagio 125 heavy sinking stickbaits, we rate these for exactly what target species you have mention above,

other options include,

Ocean potion 110mm 32 grams sinking stickbait

Halco C-Gar 120 40g (slow sinking)

Halco Roosta popper 105 30 grams

Yo-Zuri Hydro series popper 3 -1/2inch 7/8oz (floating)

Maria stickbaits work really well to.

Best technique for spangos and trout would be rod tip low and a sweep of the rod tip and wind up the slack with a pause, generally the fish will hit it on the pause/sink (this also applies for poppers).

With Queenies and Trevs, same action as mentioned above will work fine, but also a fast retrieve mimicking a fleeing bait fish with work really well.

Feel free to pop into the store or shoot us a PM.

Thanks.
