Mercury 2013 75hp 4 stroke

Engine looks brand new and has a build date of oct 2013, my jetski is sold pending his finance being approved and mine of course :) almost there..
I am looking at a Quintrex with a 2013 75hp 4 stroke 150 hours
trying to find reviews on mercury engines, a mate said he isint a fan and had heard a lot of bad stories
does anyone here have mercury outboards? Feeling a bit confused

I had a 2013 40 4 st mercy on my 4.5m quintrex and I loved it! As long as you keep up the scheduled maintenance you shouldn't have a problem.

I know the older mercs have a bad reputation... I would have put a merc on my boat but I got a good deal with the Suzuki so I went that way.
and if I was you, I would rule out 2 smokers (that includes the all together! Running costs aside, the quietness when cruising is well worth the extra $$...

Got a bad rap from 2000 to 2006 models
Lots of problems with the the 2 stage fuel pumps and other things .newer models are good from all reports

Merc are as good as any
I have grown up/owned boats all my life and always had mercs. In fact i will actually target boats that have them. everyone going to have there own opinion but in my opinion I reckon these days any outboard that is looked after (especially 4 strokes) will last a long time. Everyone has there favourites though

Merc 75
Mate I have the 2016 90, which is the same motor, and it's great. Owning the 75, when the same basic motor is the 90 and the 115 should mean that the 75 is really under stressed.

Looks the goods Shane, I'd run with that when all has been sorted out.
