I check ocean currents/surface sea temperature using the IMOS website. You can click on a region then select time frames to see a map with currents and temperatures.
Coarse scale, but sometimes useful. North of Cape Naturaliste there would also be various current overalys on seabed topography in apps like Bathymaps, at finer scale..
I use Ripcharts, very popular with most people I know that fish offshore in WA. It does require a subscription, but once you have it you can use it on your PC at home or the app on phone/ipad.

Don't think there is anymore,
Don't think there is anymore, the good web app page by Navionics is no more since Garmin took over.
Any research now means jumping on the boat in the driveway plugging the unit in, that or pay for the app.

All the online apps have gone up in price also, pretty popular even if limited out deep.

Do you mean current as in up
Do you mean current as in up to date or current as in ocean current directions?
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
