Mandurah Fishing - disappointed
Submitted by Tupac on Wed, 2022-12-28 08:39
Took my newly purchased 2nd hand 4x4 on fishing trip to Tims Thickett on Boxing day.
Enjoyed the beach driving - vroom - Sahara never missed a beat
Fishing was disappointing - high winds and every cast caught in sea weed.
Tried Whitehills thereafter - same story - high winds and sea weed/grass.
My son was dissapointed not catching any fish but he enjoyed the 4x4 driving on the beach as much as i did.
Keen to catch something before heading back to work - should i try north of river and if so can u recommend spots/locations that i can drive on beach.
Appreciate any feed back or tips.

Those beaches can change
Those beaches can change condition on every given day. Have a look at the forecast before heading out, those strong swesterlys can make it unfishable and bring on more weed. If your after some fish, herring and whiting are almost gauranteed - choose a morning with an easterly blowing with low swell around 1m or less, throw out a bit of burley and your son would have a blast. tight lines.
Got keen?
