Was down at Pt Grey...

...on Wednesday, landed one about 28cm, lost one that may have been a bit bigger, had follows/swipes from two others...that was about 2 hours of turning the water to froth with stickbaits!

In my view, worth having a look. Tomorrow may be too calm for them, hoping to sneak out early Sunday if the weather hasn't come in yet!

If you know of an area with a good drop-off, it may be worth flicking a sinking, 70mm+ stickbait around...there are some 40ish cm tailor around! Don't use your little whiting lure for this. They'll snip you off quicker than you can say "THAT was $20 out the window!"

But if they're there, they should be at most of the landbased spots as well. Had a look (didn't fish) at Coodanup and the water was still a bit discoloured from river runoff so I wouldn't be confident there, atm.

If you've got any spots away from rivers/canals (clean water), it'd be worth a go, imo. I'm actually waiting for the wind to pick up so I can try one or two landbased spots this arvo!

Went down to the new bridge

Wed, 2014-10-08 17:40

Went down to the new bridge this morning, caught 10+ bream (which was out of the ordinary because i dont often get even 1 per trip) and a herring

but didnt have much luck with the whiting, only caught 3, one of them being a KGW which was a nice surprise.
