Mandurah Crabbing

Going down to Mandurah on Sunday with the wife and two kids. Originally I was going to scoop but now it we are taking the boat. I launch at the Leprechaun Store normally. Does any one have any suggestions for which way to travel to drop my nets?

Mandurah Crabs

Hi mate,

Dylan and I have been doing alot of crabbing in Mandurah as of late and there are plenty around the lower sections of the estuary. We have been having good success scooping though im sure you will get a feed dropping nets. Be sure to use bait wallets/cages to stop the blowies making a mess of your bait. If crabbing in the morning (Low tide) target the deeper parts and if in the arvo (Incoming tide) move the nets closer to land or closer to sand banks as the crabs will shift onto them.

When launching from the Leprechaun head to your right a couple of km and you should be in the right country,

Cheers

Thanks Oceaside Tackle, it's been a while since i've been crabbing in Mandurah. Seems like we both crab the same grounds. I to prefer scooping, but of a night. Have you or anyone you know of had luck scooping during daylight hours?
