Looking for plotter
Submitted by Silver Fox on Mon, 2017-10-09 07:51
Good day to you all. My Trimaran project is fast coming to an end ( whooo hoo ) . What I'm looking for now is a plotter sounder combo to give me a nice navigation platform , not overly worried about sounder capabilities general depth is all I really need . Yet a half decent plotter would be nice. I'd like to spend about 1 k on said outfit ( card included) . Any ideas ? Raymarine Dragonfly 7 looks pretty good , yet I'm not too sure if I'm needing that sort of sounder for a cruising Trimaran . Another option is to remove my Navman Trackfish 6600 from my centre console , use that for trimaran and upgrade for the fishing mobile. Ta

Garmin echomap 75sv
Hi Silver Fox, I have never used the Garmin before but have heard good things about them. I just notice that All Boats have them on special for $999 down from $1399 on their facebook page so it fits your price range ($1399 seems to be standard retail everywhere)
My current boat has the HDS touch units which are good, but have bought Raymarine Axiom for the new boat.
Cheers,
Disco.

If you don't need a sounder
If you don't need a sounder Lowrance HDS with the best Navionics chart card is hard to beat

Needs to have a sounder
Gotta have sounder capabilities , Trimaran will become number one fishing and free diving platform . Navionics on iPhone/ iPad is a good backup though ( never leave the pen without em) Raymarine Axiom is looking likely to be the winner though. Damn there's some sweet , sweet gear around these days! . What's it going to be like in five years time???
