I use a Wilson 14ft 2pce job that I got from bcf for $60. It does the job easily in most conditions.

Made my own

Sun, 2013-05-12 09:49

Hi mate,

I made my own from a long, extendable pool net pole from Bunnings. I just put a small hole through both poles at the most extended length to take a bolt to make sure they didn't pull apart under strees. Nice and strong and very light. Extends to about 15 foot I think.

I fitted a gaff hook with hose clamps which is pretty solid.

Cheers,

Smez.

Oceanside have a killer 2piece gaff on the shelves at the moment, was going to buy it the other day but ended up going for the single length one I think its about 2m. Solid gaff though definitely buy a mako!

I got a Mako one in 1997 thats in two 3m lengths with a screw in gaff head(though you could also screw in a net head) that i have used a fair bit off the stones. Been really good to me and still works sweet.

I have been after a decent

Sun, 2013-05-12 11:05

I have been after a decent jetty gaff for ages and ages got one order hoppe it does the job as none that I have owned or seen have been, most guys on the busso jetty with a good gaff made it themselves but I havn't got any metal bending and welding skills or anything like that.

(i wouldnt like to make one much longer than 3m tho as im not sure on the strength at the joints eg at 6m.)

Hi mate,

We do stock a 2pce 4m gaff on the shelves which is what heaps of the landbased pink snapper fisherman use. Very strong construction. These are $63 for Fishwrecked members.
