Lobster in winter
Submitted by Grey Ghost on Sun, 2023-05-07 17:11
I'm interested in trying for a few lobster in winter and normally launch from Woodman Point Boat Ramp.
Where is a good place to put pots in, in winter? Same place as in the summer season? Normally I have them behind GI and 5 Fathom Bank.
Deeper or shallower water?
Thanks for help

same spots but more in the reef
Just learning about the winter crays myself. Rather than dropping in the sandy edge just of the reef, as is recommended for the whites run, I have just put pots closer to or on the reefy areas. Getting 1-2 crays every week and often up to 1.5kg, but moving the pots around and pulling them off the reef when a big swell is forecast.
still trying

Pro pots are out in the high 30's
And some deeper, saw a couple pulled on Wednesday near to where I was fishing and they clearly held good crays.
