Heading back to Leeman in a couple of weeks , had some great success with land based over long weekend , was wondering if anyone would share what depths they fish up there to find snapper and dhus , or anything else really havent got a sounder but have navionics app on phone , taking kids out so dont wanna go miles offshore hoping depths of 5-10m would be suitable

any info would be helpfull i dont want your spots just some advise would be nice,

Just fish the first ledge which is the 15m to 30m drop off and they get plenty of good fish there plus you can troll for mac lies along the same drop off

5-10m

I've speared large baldies and dhus up to 10kg in 5-10m depths around Leeman, and not far from the ramp either. I'm not much use as a line fisherman, but if you know how to target baldies I reckon you would be in with a chance in the shallows. Without a sounder you'll have to look for big structure and fish the dropoffs with a bit of burley I guess, otherwise hard flat bottom can produce good baldies but will be tricky to identify. Around Dumper Reef and Swadling Rocks on the navionics app would be roughly the areas I'm talking about.

I've also seen heaps of whiting around the ramp in Autumn while retrieving the boat.

Obviously in those depths you'll need to keep your wits about you and watch out for bombies and breaking waves.

We have just

sold our house in Perth and will be moving up to Leeman anytime after the 12th February into our own home, Leeman is underated as the best fishing spot must agree. After going up for over 25yrs and living in our on-site van, which also will be on the market sometime in February.

The corner break is a excellent spot for dhuie's etc especially on a full moon, we have caught them in 12 meters of water or less, a friend watched in the clear water in 8 meters of water, as the dhuie's nibbled on his bait.  Best ground around and straight out from the town ramp is in the 40's, we always seem to head to a spot but never get there, old fart always finds some good ground.  Good ground is always got the pro's cray pos on them but you'll have to get used to damn bolt cutters as they follow the cray boats.

Hopefully once settled will be able to give Leeman reports in the future.  What is caught etc, whether the beaches have weed or are nice and clear.

If your planning on staying

If your planning on staying in close find some sandy spots and chase whiting I would say would be your best bet, with a bit of burley anything could turn up too
